“In addition to having a gift for story-telling, Cheryl Head has a gift for characters—white and black, gay and straight, men and women—”

I have three books under my belt and a fourth in the works. I also have a slew of short stories I hope to publish soon. My interests are eclectic and, therefore, I don’t write in a particular genre, but diversity themes will always be foundational in my work. My first book, Long Way Home: A World War II Novel is the little-told story of the lives of Negro soldiers who served stateside during World War II. It is a love story with a message of pride, resilience and forgiveness.

Most recently I’ve tackled a mystery series featuring Detroit Private Investigator, Charlene Mack. She is courageous, compassionate and cunning. She also happens to be African-American, and a lesbian. Please take a peek at the synopses of my books on the following pages.

Long Way Home
Bury Me When I'm Dead
Wake Me When It's Over
Catch Me When I'm Falling
